PHILADELPHIA – The regionally ranked La Salle women's soccer team (3-0) will begin Atlantic 10 play on Sunday and looks to remain unbeaten when Massachusetts (1-2-1, 0-0-1 A-10) visits McCarthy Stadium. Kickoff is slated for noon and will stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally through the Atlantic 10.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle currently ranks fifth in the east region of the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings.
- The Blue & Gold last took the field on Feb. 28 when it downed Drexel, 1-0.
- The Explorers are averaging 4.67 goals per outing this season and have yet to surrender a score.
- Rookies Caitlin Donovan and Kelli McGroarty pace the squad with seven points on three goals and one assist each.
- In net, redshirt-freshman Jordynn Stallard (2-0) has made five saves in a pair of shutouts.
- Junior Jillian DeSantis (1-0) made six saves in the shutout against Drexel.
SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN:
- UMass has a win over Stonybrook and losses to St. John's & UMass Lowell. Most recently, the Minutewomen tied Rhode Island 0-0 this past Thursday.
- Massachusetts has scored just two goals this season and allowed its opponents four.
- Fatou Barry and Ella Curry have each found the back of the net this season.
- Alyssa Chase has made all four starts on the season and accumulated 15 saves. She's allowed all four goals for a 1.14 goals against average.
