PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's soccer team will look for its first Atlantic 10 Conference win of the season when it hosts rival Saint Joseph's on Sunday at McCarthy Stadium. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
IT'S A DRAW
- In their Atlantic 10 opener on Wednesday, the Explorers (3-1-1) finished in a 1-1 draw at Massachusetts.
- Sophomore Isak Sedin scored his first goal of the season to tie the game up in the 19th minute.
- La Salle held off a UMass attack that had a 20-11 shot advantage, while the Explorers managed a 7-5 edge in shots on target.
WERNER'S WAY
- Junior goalkeeper Brett Werner made three saves and shut the Minutemen out during the second half and both overtime periods.
- He's been a reliable asset for the Explorers this season allowing just one goal each in four of La Salle's five games.
- The 6-foot-5 keeper owns a 1.34 goals against average and a .720 save percentage this year while playing every minute in goal thus far.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
- The Hawks enter at 1-3 on the year and 0-2 on the road.
- Saint Joseph's hasn't played since March 10 when it dropped a home contest to Delaware, 1-0.
- The Hawks have only managed two goals through four matches, coming from David Grana and Alan Kahlenbeck.
- Kyle Allan and Luis Ludosan have split time in net, combining for a 1.50 goals against average and a .700 save percentage.
