BRONX, N.Y. – The La Salle softball team (0-11, 0-6 A-10) dropped a pair of games on Friday afternoon at Fordham (18-3, 6-0 A-10). The Rams claimed game one 6-2 and game two 8-0 in five innings.
 
FORDHAM 6, LA SALLE 2
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Sophomore Victoria Zatko put the Blue & Gold on the board first with a solo home run in the second inning.
• Fordham answered in the fourth with three runs on four hits to take a 3-1 advantage.
• Sophomore Casey Walker singled through the right side in the bottom of the fourth to score rookie Alyssa Fagans from second.
• In the bottom of the sixth, the Rams added another three runs on four hits to put things out of reach at 6-2.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Zatko was one of six Explorers to record a hit as she launched her second dinger of the season.
• Senior Ashley Mendenhall registered a double in three trips.
• Both Zatko and Walker finished with an RBI.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE:

• Junior Sarah Dowalo (0-6) pitched a complete game and struck out five batters for a season high. She allowed six earned on 10 hits and a walk.

FORDHAM 8, LA SALLE 0 – FIVE INNINGS
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Rams scored two in the first, four in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the fifth to enact the run rule.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Fordham's Devon Miller tossed a no-hit five inning game with 12 punch outs.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE:

• Sophomore Regan Ware (0-5) threw four innings and allowed four earned on nine hits and two walks.
