Men's Basketball | August 10, 2021

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's basketball has added incoming freshman Khalil Brantley to the roster, head coach Ashley Howard announced Tuesday. Brantley, a 6-1 point guard, comes to the Explorers after graduating from Our Savior Lutheran in 2021.

"Khalil Brantley is a talented, young combination guard who is going to bring us a fierce competitive edge," Howard said. "He'll also bring a serious scoring and play making ability."

Brantley, a three-star recruit by 24/7 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals, was born in New York before moving to Charlotte, N.C. when he was six. He started high school at Rocky River, before moving to the Bronx after his freshman season. He then spent a season at Nazareth Regional before moving to Boys and Girls High School his junior season. Due to COVID-19 and not being able to play his senior season at Boys and GIrls, Brantley spent his final season at Our Savior Lutheran in the Bronx.

As a junior, he averaged 34.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game over his 27 games en route to his squad claiming the PSAL Brooklyn AA Division champs. Brantley's performance landed him on the New York Sportswriters Association's Class AA First Team.

Outside of high school, Brantley played AAU for NY Lightning and NJ Playaz.
