Field Hockey Drops 1-0 Decision Against Towson

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle field hockey team (4-3) saw their two-game winning streak snapped as Towson (1-5) outlasted steady pressure from the Explorer offense to win 1-0 on Friday afternoon.

  • La Salle was awarded five corners in the second quarter, but Towson was able to keep the Explorers out of the net with help from a defensive save by Madisyn Howard.
  • La Salle continued to apply pressure in the second half, outshooting the Tigers 6-1 whie holding an edge of 3-1 in corners in the second half, but were unable to breakthrough as Tiger keeper Lena Vandam made five saves to record her first shutout of the season.
