Men’s Soccer Looks for Road Game Victory at NJIT on Tuesday Men's Soccer | September 20, 2021 NEWARK, N.J. – La Salle men's soccer hits the road Tuesday for a non-conference matchup against NJIT. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ABOUT THE EXPLORERS: La Salle (2-5) dropped the conference opener, 2-1, on Saturday at home against Fordham. Sophomore Junior Nare gave the Explorers an early 1-0 lead in the 24th minute from 18 yards out. With just under 10 minutes left in the first half Fordham found the equalizer and pulled away with the 2-1 lead in the 64th minute. The Explorers outshot the Rams 9-6 with Omari Cotterell having led the charge for the Explorers with a team-high four shots. Nare currently leads La Salle's scoring efforts this season with a team-high three goals in seven games played. ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS: NJIT enters with a 2-3-1 record having most recently defeated UMass Lowell in a 2-1 overtime victory at home on Sept. 18. After a scoreless 72 minutes UMass Lowell secured the first goal of the game. The Highlanders followed up three minutes later to send the game into overtime. Alejandro Rabell secured the golden goal in the 95th minute. Rabell's two goals were his first two of the season. Rene White is the Highlanders top goal scorer with six goals and two assists in six games.
