Men's Swimming and Diving | January 15, 2022
PHILADELPHIA – La Salle swimming & diving kicked off their 2022 slate on Saturday afternoon, as the women beat Fairfield 209-90 while falling to Richmond, 157-138 in a tri-meet. On the men's side, the Explorers lost to Fairfield by a final of 153-147.
HOW THE MEN FINISHED:
- The Explorers were victorious in both relays on Saturday, as Alex Kuriawa, Zachary Wolbert, Trenton Burr, and Zack Miller started their meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
- This same group closed the meet with another relay victory, this time placing first in the 400-yard free relay.
- Wolbert added his seventh and eighth wins of his campaign, placing first in both the 200-yard fly and the 200-yard IM.
- Burr also notched a pair of victories, winning the 100-yard back as well as the 200-yard back.
- Jason Rosales and Miller added solo wins as well, as Rosales placed first in the 100-yard breast while Miller was the top finisher in the 100-yard free.
- Sam Henninger lead the La Salle divers with a first-place finish, his fifth of the season, in the three-meter dive with a score of 273.37.
HOW THE WOMEN FINISHED:
- Sara Rizzetto's standout season continued on Saturday, as she tallied her ninth and 10th individual wins in the 200-yard free and the 200-yard back.
- Sam Boyes matched Rizzetto with two wins of her own, placing first in both the 100-yard fly and the and the 200-yard fly.
- Anne Moser added her fourth victory of the season, pacing the field in the 1000-yard free.
- Phoebe Shaya's dominant diving run continued, as she again swept both the three-meter and one-meter dives for the Explorers, good for her seventh and eighth wins of the campaign.
UP NEXT:
The Explorers will be back at Kirk Pool on Saturday, Jan. 22 when they take on Fordham. The meet will be senior day for La Salle, as well as the gold rush t-shirt giveaway game for students.
