PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's rowing team saw its second varsity eight put together a top-notch race and finish second at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday. The Explorers bettered boats from regional foes Temple and Saint Joseph's, while falling just short of gold medalist Drexel by less than three seconds.
La Salle's freshman/novice 4+ also had a nice showing, closing in fifth place in front of Pitt, Delaware, and Army.
Rounding out the contingent of La Salle boats was the varsity 8+. Without two of its top members, the Explorers raced to a time of 11:26.947 which was good for sixth place.
The team is back in action on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase in New Jersey.
