Men and Women’s Swimming and Diving Kick Off the 2022-23 Season at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The 2022-23 swimming and diving season will begin in Philadelphia at Drexel on Friday, October 7th at 3 p.m.
 
Scouting the Explorers (Women) –
  • The La Salle women's swimming and diving team finished 4-5 in the 2021-22 season and ninth place in the Atlantic-10 Conference championships.
  • Graduate student, Phoebe Shaya, had a strong season last year finishing twice within the top-26 of the NCAA Zone A diving championships, and being named A-10 Conference Diver of the Year.
  • Senior, Brynn Peterson, performed well in last year's 163-98 win over Monmouth. Peterson picked up wins in the 200-yard free and 100-yard free in the victory.
  • Women's swimming and diving is bringing in 11 freshmen to the team and returning 19 members from last year.
 
Scouting the Explorers (Men) –
  • The La Salle men's swimming and diving team finished 1-8 last season and took 6th place in the Atlantic-10 Conference championships.
  • Senior diver, Sam Henninger, finished the year on top as he finished in first place (314.50) in the 1M diving event at the A-10 Championships.
  • Senior, Zachary Wolbert, was a top performer for the Explorers all last season. In the team's 150-136 win over Fordham, Wolbert finished in first place in the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard free.
  • Men's swimming and diving is bringing in six freshmen to the team and returning 13 members from last year.
 
Scouting the Dragons –
  • Drexel enters their season opener against the Explorers on Friday, after their men's and women's teams finished fourth in the CAA Championships last spring.
  • In last season's matchup against La Salle Drexel men won 167-94 and the women won 168-130.
  • Senior, Chelsea Gravereaux, looks to lead the way for the Dragons after earning three gold medals in the CAA Championships in the spring.
  • For the men, sophomore, Kacper Karnik, finished the 2021-22 season being named Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet at the CAA Championships.
