BRONX, N.Y. - Junior Kelli McGroarty scored three goals in the first 45 minutes to lead the La Salle women's soccer team to a 3-1 road victory over Fordham on Sunday afternoon. McGroarty scored all three of her goals in a span of 6:54 and led the Explorers to their seventh victory of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Through 30 minutes, the two teams battled back and forth and each team had opportunities that fell short.
• La Salle worked a pair corner kicks before McGroarty launched a shot from 25 yards out that found the back of the net in the 34th minute.
• In the 38th minute, McGroarty took advantage of a miscue by a Fordham defender and slipped a shot into the right side of the goal to put the score at 2-0.
• Less than three minutes later, the hat trick was completed as McGroarty accepted a pass from Sunni DiElmo in front of net and scored to make it 3-0.
• The score remained the same into halftime, with La Salle leading the shots attempted battle by an 11-4 margin.
• From there, the Rams tried to get back into the contest and scored in the 80th minute but it was too little, too late.
• La Salle held an 18-10 edge in shots for the match.
