Pittsburgh, Pa. – La Salle men's soccer will face Duquesne in the A-10 playoffs one week after the Explorers won 1-0 against the Dukes to get into the playoffs.
La Salle will represent the seventh seed in these playoffs and Duquesne will be the second seed.
Scouting the Explorers –
- Omari Cotterell has scored three goals in his previous two games, one being the game-winning goal against Duquesne last Saturday night.
- Cotterell and Nigel Buckley are the team leaders in goals during the regular season with six apiece.
- The Explorer's defense is led by senior, Luis Puchol, who helped keep a high-scoring Duquesne offense off the board in the last match-up.
- Freshman, Filip Sabatti, has had back-to-back shutouts the previous two games, including a huge penalty kick save against the Dukes in the 83rd minute of the match.
- Sabatti's save percentage on the year is 0.750 in his eight starts.
Scouting the Dukes –
- Freshman, Ask Ekeland was Duquesne's lead goal scoring in the regular season, finding the back of the net eight times. La Salle limited him to one shot in last week's match.
- Maxi Hopfer led the Dukes in shots against La Salle with two total, as he also led the team during the regular season with 54 shots.
- The Duke's defense limited the La Salle team outside of Cotterell and Buckley to six shots.
- Goalie, Domenic Nascimben, has started all 17 games for Duquesne and has a season save percentage of 0.840.
