The loss put the Explorers at 5-6 on the season. In addition, the Explorers are 1-2 on the road this year.

  • The Explorers kept the game close over the next eight minutes, as they trailed 18-13 with 6:48 left after Nickelberry hit a three-pointer, Khalil Brantley scored on a jumper, and Rokas Jocius made a layup.
  • However, the Bearcats went on a 22-10 run to close the half and take a 40-23 lead.
  • In the second half, the Explorers raced out to an 8-0 run in the first 2:32 of the half to get it down to a nine-point deficit after Jocius and Gill scored on back-to-back dunks, Brantley scored on a fast break layup, and Gill made a jumper in the paint. The Explorers had two steals during this stretch that led to four points.
  • Unfortunately, the Bearcats would get the lead back up to as much as 22 over the next 13 minutes before coming away with the 18-point win.
