Women Win Big Against Rhode Island
KINGSTON, RI – La Salle women's swim and dive got a 192-108 victory against A-10 Conference member Rhode Island.
The women are now 3-2-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
How the Swimmers Finished –
- The women started off the race with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Rosalia Marin-Martinez, Carlota Ungo, Toni Rafferty, and Emma van Selm led the way.
- Annie Moser swam a 10:32.80 in the 1000-yard freestyle, good enough for first place.
- Marin-Martinez got her second win of the meet in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Ungo won the 100-yard backstroke for her second win of the day.
- Rafferty swam a 23.91 in the 50-yard freestyle, getting her second win.
- In the 100-yard freestyle Rafferty earned her third win of the meet.
- Ungo won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:22.86.
- Letizia Baldessari won in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.32.
- Tori Fenn added to La Salle's win total after securing first place in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Ungo won a fourth event in this meet in the 200-yard IM.
- The team of Emma van Selm, Toni Rafferty, Tori Fenn, and Maren Schermerhorn got the win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
How the Divers Finished –
- Phoebe Shaya got first place in the three-meter dive with a score of 317.78. With that score Shaya broke a La Salle Program record.
- Shaya got second place in the one-meter dive with a score of 289.05.
- Erica Kenski and Kelsie Waddington finished fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the one meter.
- Kenski's score in the one-meter qualified for the NCAA zone cut.
