PHILADELPHIA – An afternoon on the links is on the horizon as the 20^th Annual Friends of Bill Raftery Golf Outing is set to take place on Monday, June 20^th.
 
The event held by the Friends of Bill Raftery is designed to support the men's basketball program, and has raised more than a million dollars since 2002.
 
This year's outing will be held at the North Hills Country Club in North Hills, Pa. Registration starts as early as 11 a.m. before a shotgun, scramble format is set for action at 12:30 p.m. A banquet with drinks and dinner, awards and a silent auction following the conclusion of the round.
 
John F. White, '67, is this year's honoree and will be recognized at the dinner. It is his uncharacteristic passion, enthusiastic support, and exceptional leadership provided for his alma mater and La Salle men's basketball that makes him the ideal recipient of the award.

In addition to serving in a volunteer capacity on the Advancement Subcommittee of the Board of Trustees at La Salle University, he has hosted many Lasallian Presidential receptions over the years. Mr. White is a past recipient of the distinguished Michael A. DeAngelis Accounting Award, a member of the prestigious De La Salle Society for his Lasallian philanthropy, and a Tom Gola Member of the Men's Basketball Leadership Giving Society. Mr. White is passionate about and committed to supporting this particular society's efforts to supplement the financial and overall needs of the men's basketball program.
 
SCHEDULE
11:00 a.m. – Registration, Lunch, Driving Range, Putting Green available (Locker room also available)
12:30 p.m. – Shotgun Start – scramble format
5:00 p.m. – Cocktails
6:30 p.m. – Dinner, awards, program
