PHILADELPHIA – Jack Clark and
Clifton Moore were selected to the Big 5 All-Second Team on Tuesday afternoon, voted on by the coaches within the Big 5.
Moore led the Explorers in scoring, averaging 12.9 points per game while recording 6.1 rebounds. The redshirt-senior tallied 83 blocks on the year, blowing by the record books to claim the crown as the single season record holder for blocks in a season, surpassing Lionel Simmons' record of 77 set in the 1987-88 season.
Moore upped his tally to 15.4 points and 6.7 rebounds in Atlantic 10 action, scoring in double figures in the first 14 conference games. The native of Ambler, Pa. finished with five double-doubles on the season, four of them coming in a span of five games. Moore set career-highs in scoring (26 vs. Fordham), rebounds (12, twice) assists (four, twice) and blocks (seven vs. Saint Joseph's) while entering the top five in La Salle history with 125 blocks in two seasons.
Clark ended the year second in scoring for La Salle, tallying 12.0 points per contest. The redshirt-junior recorded 17 games with double-digit points on the year, 12 of them coming in conference play. Clark led the team in minutes played (30.4 mpg) and steals (35), third in assists (47) and rebounds per game (5.8).
Clark had a career-night against Duquesne in the regular-season finale, dropping a career-best 30 points against the Dukes while adding eight rebounds to his tally. The Cheltenham native shot an efficient 13-19 (68.4%) from the field in the third-straight win for the Explorers heading into the conference tournament, becoming the first Explorer to drop 30 points since Isaiah Deas posted 31 points in a win against Morgan State in the 2019-20 season.
The two combined for 39 points in the win over Saint Joseph's in the first round of the Atlantic 10 tournament to propel La Salle into the second round, where they eventually fell to Saint Louis. The Explorers finished 11-19 (5-13 A-10) on the season.
