Men's Swimming and Diving | January 20, 2023
Bronx, N.Y. – The Explorers swim and dive teams will make their way to the Bronx in a dual meet against Fordham and Richmond. The men will only be facing Fordham, while the women will be taking on both the Rams and Spiders.
Scouting the Explorers –
- Both the men and women's teams are coming off loses to Princeton University.
- Freshman, Carlota Ungo, continued her strong season against the Tigers after she took first place in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke.
- Felix Jedbratt earned another win to his young La Salle career against the Tigers. He swam to a top spot in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Gabby Herbreder won the 200-yard butterfly in the meet at Princeton.
Scouting the Rams –
- The Fordham women enter this weekend with a 4-0 overall record, and they finished second of eight teams in the Bucknell Invitational their last time out.
- The Fordham men enter Saturday at 3-1 overall and a fourth-place finish at the Bucknell Invitational.
- Sophomore, Ainhoa Martin, is a name for the Explorers to keep an eye on as she had strong performances in the Bucknell Invite, including a first-place finish in the 200-breaststroke.
- Christian Taylor and Paris Raptis each have had strong seasons on the men's side, both swam well in a close meet against Georgetown.
Scouting the Spiders (Women) –
- Richmond women's swim and dive have notched two wins this season over the span of seven total contests.
- The team is most recently coming off a 131-169 loss to Villanova.
- The Spiders took first-place in three events against Villanova with Abby Fuller, and Katie Chignell leading the way.
- Sally Harrington and Tess Weatherhead represented a strong diving duo against Villanova as they tied for second on the three-meter, while Harrington took second in the one-meter.
