Late Goal Trips Up Men's Soccer in Season Finale at Duquesne

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Sophomore Dylan Kwasnik scored the first goal of his La Salle career on Saturday night, but a late goal by Duquesne in the 85th minute broke a deadlock and led the Dukes to a 2-1 win over the La Salle men's soccer team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In a rematch of an Atlantic 10 Championship Quarterfinal matchup from a season ago, the Explorers took control from the start and also took an early lead.
  • Kwasnik converted a scoring chance off a feed from senior Drew Blackwell to put La Salle in front, 1-0, in the 12th minute.
  • The 19th minute saw the Dukes knot the score at 1-1 when Ask Ekeland found the back of the net.
  • La Salle continued to control the run of play and had a 9-7 shot advantage through the first 45 minutes.
  • The score remained the same until late in the match, when Ekeland scored his second goal with just over five minutes remaining.
  • The Explorers did have a corner kick shortly after the go-ahead goal, but could not break through.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
