PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's basketball team plays host to Bucknell on Tuesday night at Tom Gola Arena. The contest is scheduled to tipoff at 6:30 p.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN+, with Kale Beers and Rich Tarr delivering the play-by-play and color commentary. In addition, Explorers fans can follow the team on X @LaSalle_MBB and Instagram @lasallembb.
 
There will also be a pre-game reception at the Hideaway at Blue and Gold Commons. The Hideaway will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off to all fans.

NEWS & NOTES

• The Explorers eye their third straight victory to start the 2023-24 season as they host Bucknell in the first game of the Blue Devil Classic on Tuesday.
• La Salle is seeking its first 3-0 start since the 2017-18 campaign.
• La Salle, Bucknell, Duke, and Southern Indiana are the four teams that will take part in the multi-team event over the next two weeks.
• After the game against the Bison, the Explorers will host Southern Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 18, before traveling to Duke to take on the nationally-ranked Blue Devils on Nov. 21.
• Senior Jhamir Brickus scored a game-high 22 points as La Salle defeated Northeastern, 79-74, in its annual homecoming game on Nov. 11.
• The Explorers connected on nine three-pointers, including a pair of clutch triples from Brickus in the second half.
• La Salle also went a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line to help seal the win in the closing minutes.
• The victory was the second straight for the Explorers over a Colonial Athletic Association member, with La Salle downing Drexel in its season opener on Nov. 7.
• Senior Anwar Gill had another all-around performance, dishing out a game-high seven assists while adding 15 points and five rebounds.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL

• The Bison have already played three games in the early going of the 2023-24 season, having fallen to Delaware and Penn before snapping the skid against Niagara on Saturday.
• In the 73-64 road victory over the Purple Eagles, Noah Williamson had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the team.
• The Bison went 12-20 a season ago and 5-13 in Patriot League play.
• Bucknell is guided by first-year head coach John Griffin, who graduated from the school in 2008.
• Griffin is no stranger to Philadelphia or the Atlantic 10, as he previously served as associate head coach at Saint Joseph's for two seasons. He also coached at Saint Joseph's Prep.

ALL-TIME SERIES vs. BUCKNELL

• The Explorers improved to 21-7 overall against Bucknell in the all-time series with the win last year.
• The two teams have split the last 12 games evenly at 6-6.
• La Salle is 5-2 over the last seven matchups at Tom Gola Arena.
• The two teams usually play high scoring affairs, with the winning team eclipsing 80 points in seven of the last 10 games.
• This marks the first game in which the two teams have played in the month of November since the 1978-79 season (Nov. 29).
