Men's Swimming and Diving | November 3, 2023

FAIRFAX, Va. – Men and women's swim and dive fought hard but came up short in the Atlantic 10 Classic.
 
The men fell directly to George Mason 203-142 and the women lost to Mason 201-151 and Duquesne 214-138.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• On day one of the meet both Toni Rafferty and Zack Miller took first place in the 50-yard freestyle sprints.
• Also, on day one La Salle diving took gold on both the men and women's side. The women's three meter was won by Tiffany Brawn and then second place was taken by Payton DeCook.
• The men's one meter was won by Sam Henninger and second place was Lukas Dekaney.
• Andrea Savoca is continuing to swim at a high level taking first place in the men's 100-yard butterfly on day two.
• In the men's 200-yard freestyle George Williamson took gold with a time of 1:42.56.
• Savoca swam to a second first-place finish in the men's 100-yard breaststroke.
• In the men's three-meter dive Carter Randall, Sam Henninger, and Liam Cahill took one, two, and three respectively. This same result occurred in the afternoon session of the competition.
• Rafferty took first for a second time this meet in the women's 100-yard freestyle.
• Miller also secured the top spot in the men's 100-yard free.
• In the men's 200-yard breaststroke Savoca took gold with a time of 2:07.01.

 
UP NEXT:

• The team will travel to Villanova on Saturday at to face the Wildcats. The meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the swimmers, diving will start at 11 a.m.
