Men's Swimming and Diving | February 4, 2023
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Both the men and women Explorers won in the final home and regular season meet of the 2022-23 season.
The men won 230-61 and the women won 165-123. This brings the men's overall record to 4-5 and the women to 4-5-1. This was the last meet until the team travels to Ohio for the A-10 Championships starting on February 15
th.
How the Swimmers Finished –
- La Salle took the top spot on the men and women's side of the 200-yard medley relay to start the meet, which was a common theme throughout.
- Anwyn Byrne and George Williamson swept in the 1000-yard distance races for the women and men, respectively.
- La Salle's Gabby Herbreder, Annie Moser, and Maren Schermerhorn touched the wall first, second, and third in that order in the women's 200-yard freestyle.
- In the 100-yard backstroke Rosalia Marin-Martinez earned first with a time of 58.19 seconds.
- Freshman, Carlota Ungo, swam a 1:06.20 in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, enough for the top spot.
- Senior, Jason Rosales, finished his last home meet in victory as he won the men's 100-yard breaststroke.
- In the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:07.20, Letizia Baldessari earned first-place.
- Toni Rafferty, Tori Fenn, and Emma van Selm respectively swam to the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle for the women.
- La Salle touched the wall first in the men's 50-yard free as Felix Jedbratt won the event.
- Rafferty, Fenn, and senior, Brynn Peterson, swam one, two, and three in the women's 100-yard freestyle.
- Zack Miller won the men's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.50 seconds.
- Marin-Martinez won her second event in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Carlota Ungo swam to a first-place finish in the women's 200-yard breaststroke.
- Zack Wolbert won the men's 200-yard breaststroke.
- Annie Moser and George Williamson each got the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Herbreder and Jedbratt won in the women and men's 100-butterfly.
- Felicia Rogell took first in the women's 200-yard IM.
- La Salle relay teams swept in the men and women's 400-yard free relays.
How the Divers Finished –
- Phoebe Shaya broke a pool and school record in the women's one-meter dive today with a score of 313.28.
- Sam Henninger scored a 310.35 in the one meter on his senior day.
- In the three-meter dive, Shaya dove to a score of 321.90 and Henninger dove a 321.75.
