CHERRY HILL, N.J. — The 23
rd-ranked La Salle men's rowing team saw its Varsity 8+ and 2
nd Varsity 8+ boats advance to the finals of the Knecht Cup Regatta on Saturday on the Cooper River.
By getting both boats to Sunday's finals, the Explorers had two boats advance to the championship race for the second straight year after their Varsity 4+ and Freshman 4+ made it last year and went on to win gold medals in their respective events.

Ivo Krakic said. "We achieved the initial goal, which was to qualify every boat into the grand final. We are very excited for tomorrow and we hope to bring home some hardware! Go Explorers!"
The Explorers' Varsity 8+ opened the regatta by winning its first heat in a time of 6:01.42. Then, the Explorers went even faster in the semifinals, posting a time of 5:42.23 to post the second-fastest time of any team in the semis. The Explorers, coxswained by
Trevor Fawcett, finished 0.07 of a second behind Mercyhurst in the semifinal race.
The Explorers will face off against Mercyhurst, MIT, Drexel, George Washington and Trinity in the final at 12:42 p.m.
The Explorers' 2V8, coxed by
Elizabeth Boyle, qualified for the final after winning its heat in 6:05.48. The Explorers' time was the fastest of any team in the two heats of the event.
The Explorers will square off against Drexel's "A" team, Drexel's "B" team, Michigan, MIT, and Trinity in the championship race at 11:22 a.m.
In addition, the Explorers will have
Emily Perry represent the team in the Women's Single final on Sunday. Perry will race at 7:30 a.m.
