LEXINGTON, Va. – The La Salle women's water polo team went into the half trailing Marist by just one, but a big second-half for the Red Foxes, who are currently receiving votes in the national polls, led to the 14-10 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marist jumped out to a two-goal lead over the Explorers after the first eight minutes taking the 4-2 edge into the second frame. La Salle turned on the heat putting up three goals in the second period while holding the Red Foxes to two to cut the deficit to one, 6-5, heading into the second half.
- The Red Foxes held the 8-5 edge in the second half putting up five goals in the final eight minutes alone to take the 14-10 victory over La Salle.
- Tatum Lomax continued to be an offensive force for the Explorers scoring a team-high four goals in the contest.
- Madelyn Koerper contributed three goals while Francesca Co' added two and Shanna Zuanich, one.
- Lomax also led the team in assists with three.
- Koerper tallied a team-high two steals and five drawn exclusions.
- Emma Guraisch made eight saves in the net while adding one assist and one steal.
