PHILADELPHIA — The La Salle women's rowing team returns to the Schuylkill River on Saturday to compete in the Kerr Cup.
 
"We're pumped to be back on our home course this weekend racing two eights and two fours," La Salle head coach Kelsey Franks said. "The support for each other has been electric this week and I know we're going to give it all we got!"
 
The Explorers will look to improve upon their performance from last weekend at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J., where they had all three boats make the Petite Finals.
 
The Explorers' 2^nd Varsity 8+ had the best finish between the three La Salle boats after finishing second in a time of 7:07.59. The Explorers' Varsity 8+ took fourth in its Petite Final after clocking a 7:17.91. The Explorers' Varsity 4+ came away with a sixth-place finish in its final in 8:37.27.
 
Last year at the Kerr Cup, the Varsity 8+ and 2V8+ advanced to the Grand Finals. Both boats finished in sixth place, with the Varsity 8+ crossing the finish line in a time of 7:16.0 while the 2V8+ finished in 8:38.0.
 
The Explorers will have the Varsity 8+, 2V8+, Varsity 4+ and 2^nd Varsity 4+ competing this weekend.
