EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its end-of-season awards listing three Explorers All-Conference Teams and nine to the All-Academic Team.
Francesca Co' landed on the All-MAAC First Team with
Emma Gurasich and
Madelyn Koerper landing spots on the All-MAAC Second Team.
Co' currently leads the Explorers on the stat sheet recording 242 shots, 89 goals, 36 assists, 67 steals and 26 field blocks. She extended her own single-game program record in steals this season with 10 in a single game. The sophomore attacker has also earned the conference's offensive player of the week honor once this season.
Gurasich serves as the team's leading goalie. The MAAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year has 197 saves on the season and is set to hit the 200-saves milestone tomorrow. She has added 16 assists and 21 steals for the Explorers and has been named the league's defensive player of the week twice this season. The California-native tied the single-game save record of 10 last season before breaking it with a 15-save game followed by an 18-save game this season.
Koerper is the most-veteran player for the Explorers wrapping up her fifth and final year at La Salle. She has recorded 71 goals on 147 shots this season. She also leads the Explorers in exclusions drawn with 44.
Co' and Koerper also earned All-Academic honors from the league. They are joined by
Sophie Appler,
Sofia Curtis,
Tatum Lomax,
Casey Malone,
Caitlin Valentine,
Hannah Woren and
Shanna Zuanich on the MAAC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the team, the student-athletes had to have completed at least two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of a 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
The Explorers continue their season in the MAAC Championships Quarterfinals tomorrow, Apr. 28 at 1 p.m. against third-seeded LIU. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
