Explorers Fall to Davidson to Close 2023 Season

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – La Salle lacrosse finished the 2023 season with a loss to the Davidson Wildcats at home.

How it Happened –

The first quarter of play was a defensive battle on both sides. The teams combined for 15 total shots on goal, but only one converted within the quarter.
In that first quarter, senior, Julia Dellaratta, had two saves for the Explorers.
The Wildcats went on a 3-0 run to start the second quarter before the Explorers added on. Alana Lathan scored her 20^th goal of the year to put La Salle on the board at 4-1.
Davidson scored three more goals before the end of the half, and went to the break up 7-1.
Maddie Henderson scored early in the third quarter, and it was her 16^th goal of the season.
Claudia Steinmetz scored the third goal of the game for the Explorers, her 15^th of the season to put La Salle within five.

Inside the Numbers –

La Salle's top three goal scorers all had one goal today, with Lathan, Henderson, and Steinmetz getting on the board.
Lathan led the Explorers in shots taken today with five total, four of those on goal.
Liza Dellaratta and Raquel Nieves each had four ground balls to lead La Salle.
La Salle had 22 ground balls all together and was 17-20 on clears.
Julia Dellaratta had six saves against the Wildcats in today's contest.
