ORLANDO, Fla. — The La Salle men's golf team concluded its spring season with a 10th-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday at Reunion Resort & Golf Club's par-72 Nicklaus Course.
The Explorers combined for a total score of 921 (+57) after shooting 19-over for the third straight day. Davidson won the team title for the third straight year after shooting a 1-over 865 for the tournament.
Leading the Explorers was freshman
Anthony Garcia, who tied for 20th at 10-over par after totaling a 225 following a 4-over 76 in the final round Sunday. The freshman became the first Explorer to earn a top-20 finish at the A-10 Championship since David Kim tied for 16
th in 2018. The Miami, Fla. native also had 10 birdies for the championship, tying for 11
th in that category amongst the field.
Following Garcia was Nikita Romanov, who finished in a tie for 24
th at 11-over (226) following a 4-over 76 on Sunday. With his 24
th-place finish, Romanov and Garcia became the first pair of Explorers to place in the top 25 at the conference tournament since 2017 when P.J. Acierno and Nick Gruber accomplished the feat by placing 20
th and 22nd, respectively. Romanov also did amazing on the par 5 holes this weekend, as he was 7-under on them, good for the third-best total in the field.
Alex Gekas has the third-best score for the Explorers after tying for 40
th at 18-over (234) following a 5-over 77 in the final round. Freshman
Kevin Lydon rounds out the Explorers' lineup, as he tied for 44
th at 20-over (236) after posting a 6-over 78 on Sunday.
Senior Karsen Rush also competed for the Explorers, tying for 51st at 27-over (243) after posting rounds of 83, 80, and 80, respectively.
