PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams partook in a total of six events at the Penn Relays led by
El Mancini's school record in the College Women's 5K on Thursday night.
The graduate student placed second-overall in the race coming in just about a second behind Notre Dame's Erin Strzelecki. Mancini clocked in at 15:52.91 to set a new program record for the Explorers. She was joined in the race by sister
Liz Mancini who placed sixth in the 61-person field with a time of 16:05.96.
David Butts kicked things off Thursday evening for the Explorers in the College Men's 3K Steeplechase. The newcomer placed ninth overall with a time of 8:59.10.
Ibrahim Kedir was the final participant of the night for La Salle clocking in at 14:23.57 in the College Men's 5K for 37
th place.

Nevaeh Davis kicked off the relay action for La Salle on Friday with a fourth-place finish in the College Women's 4x100-meter relay with a final time of 48.11 in the preliminaries to qualify for the championships. The group went on to finish second in the College Women's 400x100 Eastern with a final time of 47.57.
Marshall, Allen and Greene were joined on Friday by Primas for the College Women's 4x400 preliminaries clocking in at 4:02.49 to qualify for the championships on Saturday. The group cut their time down by nearly seven seconds clocking in at 3:55.32 for seventh place.
The Explorers return to action next weekend up north in Massachusetts for the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7.
