"There's nothing better than starting championship season off at Murphy Cup," La Salle head coach Kelsey Franks said. "We are bringing some depth and dynamic racers to our home course this weekend. The team is looking forward to lining up with nationally ranked No. 8 Penn, as well as our regatta hosts from Temple and our speedy neighbors at Drexel. We will also face A-10 competitor George Mason in all races this weekend."
The Explorers will look to build off their performance from last year, when they saw their Varsity 8+ make the Petite Final, marking the first time they advanced to the finals at the Murphy Cup in nine years.
"This year's 1V has four returners from last year's boat. It is still very young, yet it is one of the most powerful lineups our program has ever had. Our 2V is comprised of seasoned, precise athletes that execute well in high-pressure race situations. Our V4 is made up of determined women and are the ultimate example of communication and collaboration turning into tangible speed. We are ready to race!"
