SEATTLE — The 21
st-ranked La Salle men's rowing team's Varsity 8+ took third place in the Cascade Cup race of the 37
th Windermere Cup Regatta on Saturday at Montlake Cut.
The Varsity 8+ boat grabbed their bronze medal after going up against the University of Washington's Purple and Gold boats and Western Washington University in the four-team race. The University of Washington, which has three boats ranked in the top three in the country (No. 3 in Varsity 8+, No. 3 in 2
nd Varsity 8+, No. 1 in 3
rd Varsity 8+), saw its Gold boat win the Cascade Cup in 5:47.02 and its Purple boat come in second at 5:49.64 before the Explorers finished in 6:04.36.
The Explorers will compete in their final event of the regular season next Friday and Saturday when they compete in the Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
