PHILADELPHIA — The La Salle men's basketball team earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award and saw five of its student-athletes make the organization's Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The Explorers garnered the Team Academic Excellence Award after posting a 3.15 GPA as a squad. The Explorers were one of four programs from the Atlantic 10 Conference to earn this honor.
Individually,
Mamadou Doucoure,
Fousseyni Drame,
Hassan Drame,
Charles Ireland, and Andres Marrero made the NABC Honors Court for La Salle.
In May, Doucoure graduated with a master's in strategic communications, while Fousseyni and Hassan both graduated with bachelor's degrees in marketing.
