PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – La Salle men's soccer came out on top of Army West Point 1-0 as Yuval Nimrodi scores his first collegiate goal.

The Explorers now sit at 1-0-1 on the season and Army is now 1-1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Explorers came our firing in the first 15 minutes of the game as Justin Brunow, Evan Watt, and Dylan Kwasnik each put shots on goal.
The game-winning goal was scored in the 23^rd minute by freshman Yuval Nimrodi. The forward took a shot from the top of the box and sailed over the goalkeeper's glove to find the back of the net.
The best chance for the Black Knights came late in the first half as a shot was put on goal, but Filip Sabatti laid out in front of the cage to make the stop. The teams went to the break with La Salle leading 1-0.
The Black Knights entered the second half firing on the offensive side of the ball getting off seven shots within the first 20 minutes of the half.
The Explorers were able to hold strong on the defensive front not allowing a goal in the second half after the constant pressure by Army.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Nimrodi scored his first goal of 2023 and the first of his career to give La Salle the win.
Stian Vikse and Evan Watt led the Explorers with two shots each.
La Salle was efficient with their shots taking nine total, five on goal. The Black Knights took 14 shots, six on goal.
The Explorers had three corner kicks; Army had one.
The Blue & Gold had 14 fouls and Army had eight.
