Men's Soccer | September 4, 2023

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's soccer team (2-0-1) looks to continue its season-opening unbeaten streak on Tuesday evening when it plays host to Lehigh at McCarthy Stadium. Due to the hot weather expected in Philadelphia, the match will now kickoff at 7:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • La Salle is coming off a pair of shutout wins last week, and most recently blanked Manhattan, 2-0, in a road win on Friday.
  • Defenders Evan Watt and Paolo Kampula scored goals for the Explorers, marking the first collegiate goal for each.
  • The duo also helped La Salle overcome a man-down situation for a 57-minute stretch that spanned the first and second halves.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Filip Sabatti also came up big, recording seven saves to pick up his second straight shutout win.
  • La Salle's three-match unbeaten streak to open the 2023 campaign is the team's best start since the 2012 season, when it started with three straight wins.
SCOUTING LEHIGH
  • The Mountain Hawks enter Tuesday with a 0-1-2, and have tied each of their last two matches.
  • Lehigh was also in the city of New York on Friday night, and ended up drawing with Columbia, 1-1.
  • The team also tied with Temple and dropped a 2-1 decision to St. John's in the season opener.
  • Blake Koski has played every minute of the first three matches in goal, registering a 1.33 goals against average.
