SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle most recently dropped a road A-10 match up to the VCU Rams Saturday. They fell 66-50, but Makayla Miller and Tiara Bolden scored 16 and 11, respectively in the loss.
- Miller has now scored double-digit points in six-straight games. Her 16 against VCU was her second highest total in that stretch, as she scored 19 in the win over St. Bonaventure.
- Throughout the first half against VCU, the La Salle defense led the way. The team contained the Ram's leading scorer and held her scoreless through the first 20 minutes of play and will look to continue that tomorrow.
- After winning three-straight games, the Explorers now are on a two-game losing streak after Saturday. They sit at 3-4 in conference play alongside Davidson and Saint Louis.
- La Salle takes about as many three-point attempts as anyone in the nation. On Saturday, the team attempted 30 three-point shots, but only three fell in. The Explorers rank 12th in the nation in this category.
- The Explorers are ranked in certain categories within the conference worth noting: 3rd in 3-PT field goals made (136), 4th in opponent 3-PT FG percentage (.289), and 4th in steals (155).
- The La Salle and Rhode Island's rivalry dates back to 1985 and the Explorers lead the all-time match up 29-11. The teams played one game last season in Kingston and the Rams came out on top 70-59.
- Only four players on the current roster for La Salle played in the last meeting for these two schools. Molly Masciantonio played 33 minutes and finished with 9 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds. Julie Jekot, Emma Egan, and Fiona Connolly combined for 16 minutes of play.
SCOUTING THE RAMS:
- Rhode Island enters tomorrow losing three of their last four games, including most recently to the Saint Joseph's Hawks 48-51.
- Overall, this season the Rams are 12-8 with a win over the #25 Princeton Tigers, and sit at 4-3 in conference with wins over Saint Louis, George Mason, St. Bonaventure, and Fordham.
- Sophie Phillips is someone the Explorers will need to pay close attention to from the arch. The guard is fifth in the nation in three-point attempts, behind the likes of Caitlin Clark from Iowa. Phillips has taken 163 three-point shots this season.
- Maye Toure comes into tomorrow as the team's leading scorer. She is averaging 13.4 points per game, although she lives mainly within the three-point line having only made five three-point shots this season.
