BRONX, N.Y. - La Salle men's basketball hits the road for the first of two straight road Atlantic 10 matchups, beginning with Fordham on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set 12:00 p.m., and the game will be broadcast nationally on USA Network.

NEWS & NOTES
  • In the Atlantic 10 opener, senior Jhamir Brickus scored a team-high 19 points but a second-half shooting slump doomed La Salle in a 77-62 loss to George Mason on Wednesday.
  • The Explorers led by six at halftime and extended the lead to nine right out of the gate in the second half, but the Patriots used a pair of runs to turn the tides and sprint to a victory.
  • As a team, La Salle shot just 21.4 percent from the field in the second stanza after connecting on 51.5 percent over the first 20 minutes of action.
  • Brickus' two free throws with 3:59 remaining put him at 1,000 points for his La Salle career. He became the 58th player in school history to accomplish the feat and the first since Pookie Powell in 2018.
  • Redshit freshman Ryan Zan made his first career start and got off to a blazing start, connecting on a pair of three-pointers and registering 10 first-half points.
  • Junior Khalil Brantley was the third La Salle player to reach double figures as he finished with 17 points.
  • The Explorers have valued the basketball for the majority of the season and finished with just seven turnovers against George Mason.
  • La Salle has seven games thus far this season in which it has turned the ball over less than 10 times, and currently ranks first in the Atlantic 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.64.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
  • The Rams are coming off a thrilling triple-overtime win over George Washington, 119-113, in the A-10 opener for both schools on Wednesday.
  • After GW tied the game on a buzzer-beating dunk in the second overtime, Fordham scored 11 of the final 14 points in the last two minutes of the decisive period to come away with the win.
  • Japhet Medor led five players in double figures for Fordham with 24 points, while Elijah Gray came off the bench to record 22 points.
  • The Rams knocked down 19 three-pointers, a new single-game school record, with Medor and Antrell Charlton connecting on five apiece
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Explorers hold a 44-21 advantage in the all-time series, however they have dropped the last five matchups between the two schools.
  • La Salle was knocked off at Tom Gola Arena, 66-64, in last season's regular season matchup, before falling in the A-10 Championship quarterfinals in Brooklyn, 69-61.
