HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first quarter was a slug-fest by both defenses. Both teams combined for three shots total in the first frame.
  • Early in the second, however, the Dragons secured the lead. A penalty corner set the play up, and Anna Castaldo connected to but Drexel up 1-0.
  • Five minutes later, the Dragons doubled their lead. A pass from Marti Sanabria found the stick of Val Van Hellemont who tipped the ball passed the La Salle goalie.
  • A late push from La Salle at the end of the half didn't result in a goal as Drexel held the lead at halftime.
  • The third quarter only saw one shot the entire 15 minutes, as the defenses locked in to start the second half.
  • The final frame featured late goals by both sides. Tina Rawa extended the Dragon lead by one with just over three minutes remaining.
  • Quinn Medico got La Salle on the board with her first goal of the season.
