HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The game got started quick, only one minute in before the first goal was scored. A driving La Salle offense saw an early opportunity and converted.
  • Sofia Enriquez passed to an open Shea Burns right in front of the cage who put it home for a 1-0 lead early.
  • The remainder of the first half was dominated by the Explorer offense, however they had no more goals to show for it. La Salle led 9-0 in shots by the end of the first half.
  • Quinn Medico broke the 1-0 lead towards the end of the third quarter off of a corner opportunity for La Salle. The senior took the rebound off the goalie and put it in the back of the net.
  • Not long after, Sophia Wasyliw gave the Explorers a 3-0 lead, yet again off of a penalty corner attempt. The senior found another deflection off of the goalie and connected for the goal.
  • Five minutes into the fourth frame, La Salle found their fourth goal. A firing shot from Zhao Rodrigo deflected off of the stick of Roos Pasveer for the goal.
  • Pasveer collected her second point of the day on an assist minutes later. Gabrielle Lacroix was credited for the goal.
  • Within the final minutes of the game, Medico secured her second goal of the game, thanks to a pass form Sofia Pla.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • The Explorers scored their highest number of goals of the season in today's win with six.
  • La Salle now has a six-way tie at the top of the goal-scoring leaderboard after today's game. Pla, Rodrigo, Pasveer, Burns, LaCroix, and Medico all have three goals this season.
  • Pla leads the team in points with ten, Rodrigo is right behind her, however, with nine.
  • Abby Boggs, fresh off of her career-performance against Cornell saw little action in today's contest as she only faced one shot and did not record a save.
