Explorers Team Bounces Back in Dominant Win at Saint Joseph's

Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's soccer team put forth a dominant effort against Saint Joseph's, getting a 3-0 victory for its second conference win of the season. Both conference wins for the Blue and Gold have been on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a Michael Chiha shot in the ninth minute was saved by the Saint Joseph's goal, Andrew Rosenbaum scored five minutes later off a corner kick taken by Drew Blackwell.
  • La Salle would keep firing shots throughout the last half hour of the opening frame, but all were blocked or wide of goal.
  • The Explorers held strong defensively in the first half, as all of the Hawks' six shots were off frame.
  • To start the second half, Tobi Osoba fired a shot just wide of goal in the 53rd minute.
  • In the 58th minute, La Salle would get some insurance. A cross by Yuval Nimrodi connected with Chiha's head, as he sent it back to Nevin Baer. Baer blasted the shot into the net for the team's second goal.
  • After 15 minutes of blocked shots from both teams, Kyrese Lynch-Bailey fired a shot on frame that was saved.
  • The Blue and Gold got it third in the 75th minute with a pass across from Andoni Garrogerricaechebarria to Colin Beasley, who easily tapped it in.
  • Garrogerricaechebarria almost it four in the final minutes, but his attempt hit the post.
GAME NOTES
  • Beasley scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 75th minute. The team is 3-1 when Beasley scores.
  • Seven players recorded two or more shots.
  • The La Salle defense put much pressure on the Hawks offense, as none of the Saint Joseph's 12 shots were on frame.
