Women’s Basketball Back at Glaser to Face Rider

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's basketball is set to take on the Rider Broncs Wednesday night at 6:30 PM at John Glaser Arena. The Explorers come in at 1-3 this season while Rider sits at 1-2 overall. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Explorers will be looking to defend home court against the Broncs almost one year removed from defeating them in 2023 on the road. La Salle topped Rider 72-44 in Lawrenceville last season.
  • The Blue & Gold hold an all-time record of 11-3 against the Broncs and are 6-1 against them in Philadelphia.
  • Fresh faces for the Blue & Gold have led the way early on this season on the offensive side of the floor. Joanie Quinn marked a career-high in points on the road against ACC-member Virginia. She finished the day with 16 points and went 3-8 from three-point range.
  • Aryss Macktoon, set a season-high in points against the Cavaliers with 13. The sophomore also was successful from deep as she hit two three-point shots.
  • The Explorers as a team have been collecting rebounds efficiently throughout the early parts of the 2024-25 season.
  • Pulling in 164 rebounds in all, La Salle has coraled 112 defensive boards through the first four games, and 52 on the offensive side of the court. La Salle has four players who have pulled in 22 or more rebounds this season.
 
SCOUTING THE BRONCS:
  • The Broncs enter the contest with a 1-2 record overall this season. Rider topped LIU Brooklyn on the road for their lone win of the year 66-54.
  • Both losses so far this year have come at home, losing to Navy 74-52 and to Bryant 62-54.
  • Last year Rider finished with a 10-21 overall record, and went 6-14 in conference play. After topping Iona in the first round of the MAAC tournament, the Broncs fell to No. 25 Fairfield 57-51.
  • Current Explorer Mackenzie Daleba saw action in that playoff game against Rider, playing eight minutes and collecting three rebounds.
  • A familiar face to La Salle, Gabby Turco, is having a great start to her Rider career three games into the season. The former Explorer is averaging 16.7 points per game having scored a season-high 21 points in her first game as a Bronc against Navy.
  • Camryn Collins and Mariona Cos-Morales each have been scoring well for Rider early on, as well as another familiar face to La Salle, Emilee Tahata.
