CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The La Salle swimming teams competed in the 2024 Queens Fall Frenzy this past weekend. Throughout the four days, both Explorers squads showed out, with many new program records being set.
Overall, the men's team finished in sixth place with a total of 640.5 points, while the women's team finished in sixth place with 754.5 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Days 1 and 2):
- After the first day of the Frenzy included only the 800-yard freestyle relays, the Explorers turned it on the next day, with a top-five finish in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay by one of its teams.
- Emma Van Selm, Tori Fenn, Maren Schermerhorn, and Gabrysia Herbreder worked together in that event to get a fourth-place finish.
- In the men's 200-yard IM, Andrea Savoca tied for fourth with a time of 1:49.68.
- Felix Jedbratt got a podium finish in the men's 50-yard free, getting third with a time of 19.83.
- In the women's 400-yard medley relay, the team of Emma Van Selm, Gabrysia Herbreder, Tori Fenn, and Carlota Ungo not only got fifth with a time of 3:45.2, they also set a new La Salle program record.
- The men's side had the La Salle team of Felix Jedbratt, Andrea Savoca, Noah Fredriksson, and Carter Perkins finish third.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Days 3 and 4):
- To start Day 3, Camilla Frost set a new program record in the women's 100-yard fly, finishing in 55.14.
- On the men's side, Jedbratt won the event, crossing the line in 45.4, and setting a new meet record and a brand new La Salle program record.
- Felicia Rogell got fifth overall in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:21.93.
- Andrea Savoca won the men's 100-yard breast with a time of 52.79.
- In the 200-yard medley relay, both the men's and women's events had a La Salle relay team finish in third place.
- The women's relay team of Emma Van Selm, Gabrysia Herbreder, Tori Fenn, and Carlota Ungo set a new program record in the process.
- In the final day, Jedbratt got second overall in the 100-yard free, finishing in 43.18.
- Herbreder continued her dominance in the pool with a victory in the 200-yard breast, setting a time of 2:14.8.
- Savoca won his second event of the weekend, winning the 200-yard breast with a time of 1:56.33. He set a new La Salle program record in the prelims, then broke his own record hours later in the championship heat.
- Camilla Frost and Rogell went third and fifth in the women's 200-yard fly, getting time of 2:02.53 and 2:03.41, respectively.
UP NEXT
- The Explorers travel up north to the University of Rhode Island to compete in an A-10 dual meet on Friday, Dec. 6. The meet will start at 11:00 a.m.
