Women’s Basketball Returns Home to Face Lehigh Tuesday Night

PHILADELPHIA – The 3-3 La Salle Explorers will battle the 4-1 Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Tuesday at 4:30 PM at John Glaser Arena. The Explorers will be looking to extend their two-game winning streak tomorrow night. The contest can be streamed on ESPN+ beginning at 4:30 PM.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Blue & Gold are sitting on a two-game winning streak after this weekend's win over American.
  • The Explorers were led by Aryss Macktoon against American as the sophomore set a career-high in points scored with 22. She went 11-19 from the field, which set career-highs in made field goals and attempts.
  • La Salle hit a number of season-highs as a team in the win over American on Saturday.
  • The Explorers scored a season-high 69 points, connected on a season-high 26 field goals, attempted a season-high 73 field goals, converted a season-high 13 free throws, and tied a season high in steals with 15.
  • The Explorers as a team have been collecting rebounds efficiently throughout the early parts of the 2024-25 season.
  • Pulling in 249 rebounds in all, La Salle has corralled 161 defensive boards through the first six games, and 88 on the offensive side of the court.
  • La Salle has eight players who have pulled in 20 or more rebounds this season. Jolene Armendariz leads the team with 36 rebounds total, and is pulling in 6.0 per game.
  • Both the La Salle men's basketball team, along with La Salle women's basketball have gone undefeated this year at John Glaser Arena. The teams are a combined 6-0 in the newly renovated home of the Explorers.
 
 
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
  • Lehigh enters the contest at 4-1 this season with their only loss coming at the hands of Michigan. Most recently the Mountain Hawks topped Hofstra 80-61 at home.
  • Lehigh finished the 2023-24 season with a 17-13 overall record, going 9-9 in Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks finished the season losing to Loyola Maryland in the first round of the Patriot League playoff tournament.
  • Maddie Albrecht comes into the contest as the leading scorer for Lehigh. The 5th year guard is averaging 16.0 points per game with her season-high 19 points coming last time out against Hofstra.
  • Albrecht has yet to score below 14 points this year. If the Explorers want to continue to be strong on the backboards, they will need to account for Albrecht there too. She leads Lehigh with 6.0 rebounds per game.
  • Lily Fandre and Ella Stemmer are also scoring in the double-digits this season. Fandre is putting up 12.6 PPG and Stemmer is averaging 12.2 PPG.
