Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Face FDU

PHILADELPHIA  – The La Salle men's basketball team plays its first game at John Glaser Arena in nearly three weeks on Wednesday night as the Explorers will host the FDU Knights. La Salle will honor Big 5 and La Salle Hall of Famer Larry Cannon prior to the game at halftime. Cannon, who is one of only five La Salle men's basketball players with their jersey retired, passed away in May.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+. The game audio will also be streamed with Kale Beers providing play-by-play. Additionally, Explorers fans can follow the team on X/Twitter @LaSalle_MBB and Instagram @LaSalleMBB.

LAST TIME OUT - LA SALLE 67, NORTH CAROLINA 93
  • La Salle battled against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill on Saturday.
  • The Explorers got out to an early lead, but a 16-0 UNC run put the Tar Heels up double digits. North Carolina never looked back.
  • Several players had standout performances. Forward Demetrius Lilley impressed on the offensive end, setting a new career-high with four three pointers en route to scoring 16 points.
  • Guards Deuce Jones and Eric Acker impressed. Jones scored 13 points, his second straight game in double-figures. For Acker, he added 13 points in his La Salle debut.

NEWS AND NOTES
  • La Salle will look to defend its perfect record in John Glaser Arena. The men's basketball program has yet to fall at home, with a perfect 4-0 mark. The men's and women's programs are a combined 8-1 in their new home.
  • Dating back to February 17th of last season, the Explorers have claimed victory in their last seven home contests. They have not dropped a home game in 314 days.
  • McKeithan continues to pace the Explorers. He was held to eight points versus North Carolina, the first time he has not scored at least 15 points since UIC in mid November and only the second time this season he hasn't reached double figures this season. He ranks 6th in the A-10 in scoring, and falls within the 20 in six other categories.
  • Demetrius Lilley is pulling down 7.5 boards per game, 5th in the Atlantic-10. He has set new career-highs in three pointers in back-to-back games.
  • Guards Marrero and Shepherd return from a season ago. Shepherd had a streak of five straight games in double-figures snapped in Chapel Hill. Both have started every game this season.
  • Deuce Jones has continued to impress in his rookie campaign. The guard followed up his A-10 Rookie of the Week honor last week with a spot on the Big 5 Honor Roll.

SCOUTING FDU
  • FDU is 4-8, with four of its losses coming against power conference foes.
  • The Knights most recently faced the Villanova Wildcats, falling to their foes from the Main Line, 86-72 on Wednesday.
  • Terrence Brown is far and away the player to watch for FDU. The guard is averaging 22.2 points per game while also leading the team in rebounds and assists.
  • Jack Castleberry enters his second season as head coach of the Knights. He was an assistant on the 2023 team that defeated Purdue in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
