Men’s Basketball Cruises To 108-48 Victory Over Immaculata

Philadelphia, PA - Five Explorers scored in double figures as the La Salle men's basketball team earned a wire-to-wire 108-48 victory over Immaculata in the final non-conference game of the 2024-25 season.

This marks La Salle's biggest win in exactly 365 days, when the Explorers earned a 107-41 victory over Rosemont. 

Sophomore Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi led all scorers with a career-high 21 points, with sophomore Eric Acker adding 14 points. Freshman Jason Umosella and graduate student Corey McKeithan contributed 12 points, with redshirt junior Mac Etienne scoring 10 points.

With the win, La Salle finishes the non-conference slate with a perfect 6-0 mark at the new John E. Glaser Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:
  • The Explorers connected on 66.7% of their field goal attempts in the first half and immediately jumped out to a big lead.
  • La Salle extended its lead to 47-3 with 7:48 to play in the first half on a Vahlberg Fasasi layup, La Salle's biggest lead of the first half. 
  • A dominant defensive effort limited Immaculata to 6-31 (19.4%) from the field in the first period.
Second Half:
  • After jumping out to a 62-19 halftime lead, the Explorers outscored the Mighty Macs 46-29 in the second half to earn the victory.
  • The Explorers' biggest lead of the game came with 4:06 to play, as another Vahlberg Fasasi basket gave La Salle a 65-point advantage at 104-39.
  • Newcomer Umosella led all scorers in the second half, scoring all of his 12 points in the second period. 
Inside The Numbers:
  • The Explorers held a 71-27 edge in bench points, as all 12 players who saw action scored at least three points.
  • Etienne and redshirt junior Andres Marrero shared the team lead with eight rebounds apiece.
  • As a team, the Explorers held a 51-25 edge on the glass.
  • La Salle had a 46-22 advantage in points in the paint.

Following the holiday break, La Salle will travel to Dayton to continue Atlantic 10 play on December 31 at 2:00 pm.
