Explorers Swim and Dive Head to Rhode Island for A-10 Tri-Meet

KINGSTON, R.I. – The La Salle women's swim & dive teams travel to New England for a tri-meet with UMass and the University of Rhode Island. The men's diving team will compete too in a dual meet with UMass. The meet is set to begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS (WOMEN'S SWIM)
  • The women's team came in sixth place out of 13 teams with a total of 754.5 points at the Queens Fall Frenzy.
  • The ladies set three new program records during the four-day meet, which occurred in the 200- and 400-yard medley relays, and the 100-yard fly.
  • Camilla Frost set the record in the 100-yard fly, and got third in the 200-yard fly.
  • Felicia Rogell also finished well, getting fifth in the 200-yard fly.
  • Emma van Selm, Tori Fenn, Carlota Ungo, and Gabrysia Herbreder were a dominant quartet in the meet, recording the program records in both of the aforementioned relays. They got a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard medley, and got bronze in the 200-yard medley.
  • Herbreder won the 200-yard breast on the final day of competition.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS (DIVING):
  • The diving team last competed against Villanova on Nov. 8. The women's team outscored the Wildcats 22-16 in points, and the men's team had 21 points to Villanova's 17.
  • Tiffany Brawn won both diving events on the women's side.
  • Lucas Dekaney won the one-meter diving event, and was runner-up in the three-meter event.
  • Kelsie Waddington and Carter Randall were both third in their respective one-meter diving events.
SCOUTING THE RAMS:
  • The Rams women's swim and dive team is coming off a second-place finish in the Harold Anderson Invitational the team hosted from Nov. 21-24.
  • Rhode Island holds a record of 2-2 this season, winning both of its meets at home.
  • The head coach of the Rams is Lilli Falconer Deering.
SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN AND MINUTEWOMEN:
  • The UMass women's swim and dive team finished in third place in the Terrier Invitational that took place from Nov. 22-24.
  • On the men's side, the dive team finished fourth in the same three-day meet.
  • UMass is 0-2 on both the men's and women's teams.
  • The men's team is led by head coach Sean Clark, and the women's team is led by head coach Maiya Otsuka.
