PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's swimming and diving team competed in a road conference tri-meet up north, winning against both Rhode Island and UMass. The men's diving team also competed, albeit in a scrimmage against UMass.
The women's team beat the University of Rhode Island by a score of 137-122, and defeated UMass by a result of 152-107.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The women's team won the first event of the day, with the 200-yard medley relay team of Shailla Mejia, Carlota Ungo, Camilla Frost, and Emma Van Selm taking gold with a time of 1:46.89.
- Gabrysia Herbreder was the first to finish in the 200-yard free by nearly a full second, finishing in 1:54.75.
- Beren Celik won the next event in 2:08.13, which was the 200-yard IM.
- Camilla Frost won her second event in a nail-biting finish in the 100-yard fly, winning by a hundredth of a second.
- Van Selm and Celik went 1-2 in the 100-yard free, with times of 53.33 and 53.45, respectively.
- Herbreder, Van Selm, Tori Fenn, and Maren Schermerhorn worked together to win the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:38.32.
- Fenn, Van Selm, Herbreder, and Felicia Rogell won the 400-yard free relay, beating the next closest time by over half a second.
- On the diving side, Kelsie Waddington won the one-meter event with a score of 284.4.
