LA SALLE NEWS & NOTES
  • The Explorers dropped a contest at conference leader Richmond on the road Saturday, 82-65.
  • Despite the final score, the game featured several momentum swings, with eight lead changes in the second half alone. La Salle held the lead with nine minutes remaining in the second half, but the Explorers ran out of gas late.
  • Senior guard Khalil Brantley led the Explorers with 22 points, his most since scoring 23 at Miami in December. The guard scored in double figures for the fifth straight game. It is the 17th time this season and the 56th time in his career.
  • Rokas Jocius recorded the second double-double of his career with 10 points and 10 rebounds. It is the fourth straight game the forward has recorded a milestone after setting a career-high in rebounds at Rhode Island (13) and putting new career-highs in points in his prior two games, with 15 against Saint Joseph's and 19 versus Saint Louis.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
  • Davidson is 13-10 on the season and 3-7 in the Atlantic-10. The Wildcats fell in a heartbreaker vs George Mason, 57-55, on Saturday.
  • This is a critical game in the A-10 standings, as Davidson sits just one game ahead of La Salle. A win would push either team closer to a first-round bye.
  • Grant Huffman is a name to watch for Davidson. The guard is a two-year captain and leads the Wildcats in points (13.6) and is second on the squad in rebounds (5.2).
  • Huffman is one of four Wildcats averaging double-figures. David Skogman (13.3), Reed Bailey (11.3), and Connor Kochera (11.0) all add 10 plus points per game.
  • Matt McKillop is in his second season with Davidson, he previously was an assistant with the team for 14 seasons under his father, Bob McKillop, who led the program for 33 seasons. The younger McKillop has a record of 28-25.
SERIES HISTORY
  • La Salle and Davidson first met relatively recently in 2009. The Explorers took that matchup, 84-70.
  • Davidson holds the all-time series lead, 10-3. The two have shared a home in the Atlantic-10 since the Wildcats joined the conference in 2014.
  • The two sides met last season in Philadelphia, Davidson claimed a 64-57 win thanks to a strong second half. Andres Marrero (10 points), Daeshon Shepherd (14 points), and Brantley (10 points) all scored in double figures.
