                     PRINCETON, N.J. –  The La Salle water polo team (6-5) fell to No. 22 San Diego State and No. 20 Harvard at the Princeton Invitational this weekend. The Explorers have now faced three consecutive ranked opponents and will face a fourth as the squad hosts top-ten Princeton at Kirk Pool on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED (#22 SAN DIEGO STATE, L 10-8):
	- The first quarter featured only one goal, which put the Aztecs up 1-0.
 
	- SDSU continued to put on in the second quarter. The visitors from California took the frame by a score of 4-2. Sofia Kolovou and Francesca Co' scored one each for La Salle.
 
	- The third featured a compelling back-and-forth. Kolovou sandwiched the Aztecs with a pair of goals to put the tally at 4-6. San Diego State responded with a goal of its own to push the lead back to three. Each side scored once more in the period to put the score at 8-5 going into the fourth.
 
	- The Explorers made a valiant effort to get back in the contest with a goal early in the quarter from Kolovou, but SDSU fired another into the back of the cage with four minutes remaining. La Salle had one final attempt at a rally via a goal from freshman Martina Bonet Saez, but the Aztecs countered with another to put the score a 10-7. Kolovou scored a final time to end the contest.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (#20 HARVARD, L 12-4):
	- Co' opened the game with a goal to give the Explorers an early 1-0 lead. After four scoreless minutes, the Crimson went on a three-goal tear to end the quarter.
 
	- Harvard picked where it left off going into the second with two straight goals to make it 5-1. La Salle responded with goals from Co' and. Kolovou to get back in the contest, but Harvard scored again with 15 seconds remaining to notch a 6-3 lead going into the break.
 
	- In a slow third quarter, each team scored just once, with Co' notching the goal for La Salle.
 
	- Harvard won the final frame 5-0 to put the final at 12-4.
