SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • These championships will mark the first competition that the entire team of swimmers and divers will be competing together since Jan. 20 against Fordham.
  • The last time out for the swimmers resulted in a win for the women over Monmouth 174-87, and a loss for the men to Monmouth 103-142.
  • Against the Hawks, the women performed strong right from the jump. The 200-medley relay team of Lauren Fenn, Carlota Ungo, Tori Fenn, and Toni Rafferty took first place in a time of 148:20.
  • Tori Fenn continued her strong meet with a win in the 100-yard freestyle and is a name for everyone to watch in that event.
  • Rafferty has been a force on the women's side all season long in the sprint events. She has double-digit first place victories in the 50-free and 100-free combined.
  • Even though the divers did not compete against Monmout, Tiffany Brawn is a name to watch in the championships this week. The freshman from Columbia has taken first in both the one-meter and three-meter dives this year, along with a platform dive victory earlier in the season.
  • For the men, there have been consistent performances this season, and some record-breaking moments.
  • Against Fordham, the 200-yard medley relay team of Tarik Gusic, Andrea Savoca, Felix Jedbratt, and Carter Perkins broke a La Salle program record in a time of 1:29.69, something to keep a close eye on during these championships.
  • Savoca is no stranger to strong performances this season. The five-time A-10 Rookie of the Week has been consistently dominating in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events all year long.
  • While competing in the Fall Frenzy this year, Savoca broke the 100-yard breaststroke record, not once, but twice in the meet. The best time he set sits at 53.76 seconds. This is an event and a swimmer to watch out for all week long.
  • Lucas Dekaney and Sam Henninger are both divers on the men's side that should be watched. The duo has been successful in both one and three meter dives this season.
