PHILADELPHIA - For the first time in his career, junior La Salle men's basketball guard Daeshon Shepherd has earned Player of the Week honors from the Philadelphia Big 5.

Shepherd was named Player of the Week by the organization after averaging 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and hitting on 60.0% of his field goal attempts in two wins for the Explorers. On Wednesday's win over St. Bonaventure, he tallied a career-high 23 points and grabbed seven rebounds while going 4-8 from beyond the arc.

Four days later in another victory over Rhode Island, the Norristown, Pa. product registered 13 points and eight rebounds to help the Explorers to their third straight win. He is averaging 16.2 points and 6.2 rebounds over his last five games.

Shepherd and the Explorers return to action on Wednesday, February 28 as they travel to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
