HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Coming out of the gate, the Ramblers took over offensively, getting off to a quick 7-0 run thanks to Sitori Tanin.
  • Nicole Melious, a bright spot for the entire night for La Salle, broke open the scoring for the home team scoring the first six points.
  • Ending the first quarter, Makayla Miller drove to the bucket with an expiring clock to cut the Loyola lead to five (LUC 15, LAS 10).
  • After a few scoring possessions from the Ramblers, Jolene Armenzariz knocked down a three-point shot, one of only four made for La Salle in the game.
  • Armendariz took control on the next scoring possession, driving to the bucket for two points, cutting the Rambler lead to four.
  • Tanin would then take over the game and pull Loyola Chicago away to close out the first half. Tanin would finish the first half with 15 points (LUC 35, LAS 23).
  • The offensive firepower from the Ramblers in the first half, would not go away after the break at the half. Sam Galanopoulos would knock down shots for Loyola Chicago, bringing her game total to 11 points halfway through the third.
  • Melious would hit her second three-point shot to end the third, bringing the scoring total for La Salle to only eight points (LUC 58, LAS 31).
  • Only four possessions for La Salle in the fourth quarter resulted in points, again only scoring eight points in the final frame of play (LUC 73, LAS 39).
