RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The La Salle Water Polo team earned two wins at the California Baptist Mini Invitational on Tuesday, including defeating No. 22 Cal State Northridge for the program's first-ever ranked win in a non-covid season. The win propels the squad to a 10-11 record heading into conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED - CAL BAPTIST (W, 12-8)
- The game began with back-to-back goals from Francesca Co' to put La Salle up 2-0. Cal Baptist countered with three of the next four goals. Martina Bonet Saez added one for La Salle to end the first up 3-2.
- Cal Baptist won the second quarter 2-0. The halftime score saw the Lancers up 4-3.
- The third quarter was a tale of two different games. Sofia Kolovou scored twice for La Salle to go up 5-4. Cal Baptist proceeded to score four of the next five goals to end the period with a 8-6 advantage. They would not score again for the remainder of the game.
- The Explorers slammed on the gas to score six goals in the final frame. Five different players found the back of the net for La Salle, Kolovou, Casey Malone, Co', Hannah Woren, and Martina Bonnet Saez. La Salle took the game by a score of 12-8.
- Co' and Kolovou scored four goals each. Lily Kirby made 18 saves on 26 attempts on target.
HOW IT HAPPENED - #22 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (W, 9-7)
- La Salle dominated the first quarter, 3-1. Co' scored twice and Woren scored once.
- The teams traded goals in the second quarter, Bonnet Saez and Co' scored for the Explorers. The Matadors scored twice to take a halftime tally of 5-3 into the break.
- Three different Explorers found the back of the net in the third quarter to just one for CSUN to build a 8-4 lead for La Salle. Bonnet Saez, Co', and Casey Malone scored for La Salle.
- The Matadors could not mount a meaningful comeback as Bonnet Saez buried one more goal to seal the win for La Salle.
- Bonnet Saez scored three goals and passed for three assists for La Salle.
